Patrona Opens Its Strategic Planning and Financial Analysis Center of Excellence


Arlington, Virginia, May 9, 2011 – Patrona Corporation Strategic Planning and Financial Analysis Center of Excellence (SPFA CoE) recently was awarded a 3-year contract to perform contract spend analyses and strategic sourcing support for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology & Logistics).

Patrona Corporation opened its new SPFA CoE located in Fairfax, Virginia. SPFA CoE is a nationally recognized research organization of excellence that conducts independent, innovative, quantitative research on long-range defense economics and budget planning issues, both in the United States and abroad, for use by senior executive-level government and corporate clients.

SPFA CoE offers a broad range of services:

– National security strategic planning and analysis
– Long-range budget and resource forecasts
– Affordability/financial risk assessments
– Defense contract spend analyses/strategic sourcing
– Defense economic analyses
– Defense business transformation studies
– Defense acquisition and technology planning
– Programming and budgetary analyses

Led by Mr. Jeffrey M. Ranney, Patrona SPFA CoE draws upon his more than 30 years experience of managing, directing and conducting studies and analyses for use by senior DoD/Service principals in the areas of strategic planning, budget forecasting, defense economics and contract spend analyses/strategic sourcing. These studies and analyses address the entire national security spectrum: policy and strategy; force structure and posture; acquisition test and technology programs; readiness programs; industrial base policies and programs; and defense procurement and acquisition policy.
